India's Airport Screening Produces Positive Results

The Weather Channel reported today that since random coronavirus testing of incoming airline passengers began on December 24, 2022, a total of 39 international travelers have been found COVID-positive across different airports in India.

 In the last three days, 498 international travelers have been screened at airports.

Announced on December 22, 2022, the latest screening guidelines were posted by India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

According to WorldOmeter data, India has reported very few COVID-19 cases in late December 2022.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated travel notice for India is posted at this link.

The CDC did include India in its Watch - Level 1, Practice Usual Precautions notice issued in September 2022 regarding dengue outbreaks in Asia and the Pacific regions.
