Who Are Trusted Pharmacies

Trusted Pharmacists deliver medications and vaccines in compliance with state and federal laws. The Texas Medical Board and Board of Pharmacy do not endorse or prohibit any particular prescribed drugs or treatment. Drugs are permitted to be prescribed off-label. It is the professional judgment of each physician to write their prescriptions while meeting all applicable federal and state statutes and rules. Similarly, each pharmacist must use their professional judgment in dispensing valid prescriptions while meeting all applicable federal and state regulations and statutes.

Why Pharmacists?

Pharmacists on 'main street' have become a trusted source of health information and high-quality services. A recent study found that 77% of patients agree pharmacists are integral healthcare team members. With nearly 90% of Americans living within five miles of a local pharmacy, they are the most convenient location to be fully immunized.

Information Standards

The Trusted Pharmacist Network adheres to the principles presented in the European Commission's Code of Practice on Disinformation and FactCheck.org, a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania. These standards help address an expanding trust in information reporting.

The survey of 11,889 U.S. journalists, conducted Feb. 16-March 17, 2022, identified several specific areas of concern for journalists, including the future of press freedom, widespread misinformation, political polarization, and the impact of social media.
