The European Centers for Disease Control (ECDC) published updated color-code maps based on data reported by European Union (EU) Member States through October 7, 2021.

These maps are published by ECDC every Thursday in support of the Council Recommendation on a coordinated approach to free movement in Europe during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To limit the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 betacoronavirus, the EU's 27 Member States have adopted various measures which have impacted citizens' right to move freely across the EU, such as requirements to undergo quarantine or take a coronavirus test.

While the measures are intended to safeguard citizens' health and well-being, they have had serious consequences for the economy and citizens' rights.

The right of European citizens to move and reside freely within the EU is an essential driver of its economy.

The countries are marked and classified in these maps according to the criteria in the latest amendment of the Council Recommendation.

Travelers can find advice for EU citizens on living, moving, working, or finding a job, and facts on visas and immigration for non-EU citizens.

Furthermore, this ECDC weekly report provides an overview of the epidemiological situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and COVID-19 vaccine rollout by country.

In addition, the U.S. CDC updated its COVID-19 Travel Recommendations by Destination on October 4, 2021.

And a listing of Travel Vaccines is found on this webpage. Most travel vaccines need to be administered at least 1-month before departure to ensure maximum protection.
