USA Continues Leading COVID-19 Vaccinations
As of February 19, 2021, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 41,977,401 first-dose COVID-19 vaccines had been administered. Furthermore, the number of people receiving their second vaccine doses had reached 17,039,118.
From an international perspective, Our World in Data indicates the USA leads all other countries with over 59 million vaccine doses administered, followed by China with 40.5 million, and the UK with about 17.4 million doses administered.
Moreover, there are now eleven COVID-19 vaccines being administered globally. On February 19, 2021, the Russian Federation announced the registration of their 3rd locally-produced COVID-19 vaccine, called CoviVac.
The experimental Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and the Moderna COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are available in the USA, says the CDC.
